Sudden progress

Welcome back!

I've been putting off a return to this blog for a few weeks for a reasonable excuse, I hadn't actually finished any marines! But, over the last week or so, a bunch of stuff has been finished off so I thought it was time to get back into it. 

A new city

At the end of last year, I came yo the realization that my current terrain solution wasn't working for me, so I went down the path of rebuilding it. Over the Christmas break, I spent a bit of time getting this done. After having a painted table I didn't want to go back to just playing on blank mdf, and I knew once that happened it would take a while to actually get around to painting it. So after a couple weeks, this is how the table turned out:






9th company blasts in

With that done, I jumped back into painting mode, kicking off with finishing the company batch paint I started back in November. After a couple weeks, 9th company was painted:





The final finishing touches are needed, being bases and transfers, but I've put that off to work towards a major milestone.

Final arrivals

After about 6 weeks in transit, my UK order finally arrived! 3 Impulsors for Troll Trader. This means that everything for the chapter is now here!



Now everything is here, I wanted to get everything I could built (with the exception of a couple of surprises at the end). This started off with cleaning up the premade Impulsor, and assembling the 2 NOS ones.




 With those done, I have a large back log of tanks to clean and tidy up and everything will be built. More on that next time.

I'll finish up with a couple of battle shots on the new table!

Welcome back everyone  The last couple of weeks have had a bit of a painting focus for me, I'm very keen to get 1st and 5th companies finished as soon as possible. I started the fortnight off with a squad that I was a little nervous about due to their size and details, the bladeguard. It took me most of the week to finish a squad of 10, with a lieutenant and ancient: Overall I was very happy with how well they turned out, and I'm very happy with the decision to add the white helmets for first company.  Next in the desk was a final tactical squad for5th company, and the ancient: I got an extra day off from work on Friday, which meant I had enough time to finish a squad of veteran intercessors as well: The final progress I've was starting on some 5th company assault marines,  which I hope to have finished in a day or two. Tank shock

 Hi everyone  Well, in my last update, I had just started working on a massive batch of vehicles. In today's update, they are finished! Here is the full lot below: I painted this in smaller batches, so here are the close ups of each batch: The exciting thing is, that is the full chapter painted! There are some main tasks left, a big batch of bases is next, then it will be transfers for a while. Finally I have some banners for the Sargeants. I have a work trip in the middle of June, so I'm expecting that to be done some time in July.  See you then! Mark

Baby's first birthday- 12 month review

Hi everyone  Although I started writing this blog (on my previous platform) in November, this project really kicked off in September 2020, this is when I first sat down, looked at my existing marines, put my plans in place, and purchased a whole pile of first born marines off Ben.
