Welcome back everyone!  Well, it's been a while since I posted, and since that time I've been very busy with moving house and not busy with hobby! Over the last few weeks I've finally got the house set up enough that I could break out the brushes again. There is a slight catch though, this is the currect state of my hobby display while i wait for shelves to arrive: Somewhere in these boxes is about 40k worth of eldar, and a chapter of marines. Rather than go digging though all the boxes to find bikes I was working on, I just opened the first box I could find and went to work.  It turns out, what was in that box was a bunch of 3rd company marines in Gravis armour. First up was a squad of Heavy intercessors and a lieutenant  As much as I hated building these guys, they were actually quite fun to paint. Hi everyone, welcome!  Life's been a bit funny of late, so while this blog normally comes out every two weeks it's been a month since my last post. Easy reason for that, I caught COVID. While I was lucky and it was mild it killed my energy for a bit. Following that we finished off the process of buying and selling our house. Today's post will cover everything that I've managed right up until I packed everything in boxes, then I'll be back in probably 4 weeks or so once it's all unpacked!  So let's get into it.  At the end of the last post, I'd finished all the building for everything I had, so the next thing was a pile of spray painting: the initial goal was for everything to be sprayed, but I under estimated how spray I would need! Hi everyone  The last couple of weeks have been a frenzy of building, but I fell about 20 models and a spray paint session away from having everything built. So before I share a pile of images of assembled marines, I thought I would provide a guide on how to speed paint marines.  Fast marines guide First things first, if you want to paint highly detailed edge highlighted marines, this isn't going to be of much help. What this will be is some tips on how to speed up your painting in general, with  focus on marines. Scheme Before you start Colour scheme pick is probably the most important decision here. Especially with marines, the armour is such a main point of the model, that the decision of colour and technique will make a massive difference to the end result. If you are looking for speed you need to find a way to capture the sharp edges on the armour without spending ages highlighting. Hi everyone  A good news post ahead. Let's start off with the title of the post, 2nd company is all done! This is the first of two full primaris companies, this one in Mark IX armour. Painting was all finished for the last post, so this week was all about painting all the bases and transfers, before finishing off with the traditional company shoot: Captain Drusus Seneca and command squad  With these boys done I now have four fully painted, based, and squad marked companies. Six to go... The last major development this week was the arrival of a special order. Consisting of 42 vanguard, 3 outriders, an attack bike, a land speeder, 3 suppressors, 3 bladeguard and an emperors champion, and along with 3 eliminators that arrived on the weekend, I have now completed all 10 companies! I'm pretty excited to hit this point, and very surprised at how quick its come along. Huge thanks to those have helped out with models so far! ...

Hey everyone  Welcome back! I hope you all got to spend some time over the last few weeks with family, friends and celebrating some holidays. I had a couple weeks away, and some at home, so I thought I'd update you all on my progress since last year.  First up, I went pretty hard the week leading into Christmas, using some time in the mornings and my lunch breaks to see how many of 2nd company I could finish, turns out, quite a few: Intercessors  20 intercessors... 30 intercessors... 40 intercessors! And here they all are, not bad for a weeks worth! Christmas bought me some goodies of the marine variety, in the form of ATVs and inceptors: Actual new in box models making an appearance for a change!
