Doug 3 -Return of the Doug - Episode 14

Welcome back!

Slight episode delay this week, as between a tournament and visit from my parents I didn't really achieve that much! I only really made progress in this last week and finished up with a mad rush yesterday. Let's dive in:

Spending in advance 

Before I dived into the Doug buy, I picked up a cheap buy of some hellblasters and intercessors from Trademe:

Good old Doug reached out to me to let me know he was clearing out the last of his marines. Did I want any? Yes. Yes I did. I had a little left in my May budget, so this became a down payment, and I'll use June and a bit of July budget to pay the rest. Unfortunately this means no other purchases for a month or so, unless I can finish off the chaos and sell them. For my money I picked up:

Chaplain on bike

ATV

3 outriders

Ravenwing command squad

20 intercessors 

10 assault intercessors 

5 terminators 

2 dreadnoughts 

On pick up Doug threw in a couple of first born and a rune priest he had floating around. All my hobby time went into building this lot. I decided to bulk up my intercessors and assembled the 10 assault intercessors as normal ones instead. The Ravenwing became the champion and ancient for 6th company, and a spare biker to build a squad up to 10. The rune priest became the outstanding lieutenant from 7th company (now at 100%!).

The last thing I managed from the Hobby side was a spray paint session of all my existing models that were waiting. Here is the Doug stuff assembled and sprayed:

A less temporary home

All this assembly highlighted a problem. I was out of display space...

Up to this point everything had been sitting on an old desk and some shelves, and I was officially out of space. My solution was to build a couple extra shelves from some mdf. This gives a section for each company that should be big enough to fit them.

I'm pretty happy with my efforts, apart from a slight misalignment on the top shelf. The only issue is the bikes from 6th company are much to big, and will definitely encroach into other companies space. Luckily 3rd company is small right now. This isn't meant to be the forever solution, so will do for now.
